We must believe! There is the flow and eddies of turmoil when we 'cut off our ear' or try to solve in our own 'brilliance' what God has already resolved in one word from His Son, "Finished!" 

When "Me, Myself and I" are on the throne of our heart and our lives are Self-Centered then it is our imagination at work in the temporal - (The temporal meaning "subject to change") Under extreme self-imposed suffering or holocaust, our sin, or separation from God, leaves the mutilation to our own hands. Man is destructive and self-destructive by nature and like Van Gogh, we tend to follow "our own path" of destruction. When we cry out, He hears and answers. He lifts us out of our pit. Sets our feet upon a rock. Puts a new song in our mouth giving praise to God. When others see this, they fear their own way and trust in the Lord's way.

Contrast this to The Eternal - (the absolution and absolute of God to those who believe). In the eternal, the turmoil of our own ways becomes the SHALOM of the Lord and the swirling becomes the Pneumatic breath of God not the dictates of suffering, sin and death. Jesus became our holocaust. So the swirls and eddies of the Spirit continue to produce their own eddies and so on and so on and so on! The power of His eternal presence in our communion with Him at His Table has the ability to "transform what is temporal or temporary into that which is eternal and profound". 

Believe and do the small thing. Have a small piece of bread and a sip of wine. Receive it with thanksgiving and prayer and He will open your eyes to the eternal. You will recognize Him. Your life will never be the same. He will feed you with His life, reassure you of the gift of eternal life and will show you things to come! He has a storehouse of memories He wants to share with you and that's why He sent His Holy Spirit - to bring to your spirit, heart and mind the memories Jesus wants to create with you! Yes! He loves you just that much!
