The Light of Christ has come into the world... Believe and Receive with Thanksgiving
Epiphanies, Visions, Revelations, Encounters with Heaven, Interior Life, Inner Vision, Inner Locution, The Glory, The Light of Christ, The Voice of the Lord are all components of awakening spiritually to the reality of the eternal while living in the temporal. It is divine intervention in a personal, one-on-one relationship with Jesus that is intimate and a first-hand encounter.

Acts 1:7-9 “He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight."

Another time Peter and James and John (the sons of thunder) were invited by Jesus to be personal witnesses to see the glorious Jesus meeting with Moses and Elijah. Jesus was transfigured

Matthew 17:1-3 "Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him."

TRANSFIGURED metamorphóō from 3326 /metá, "change after being with" + 3445 /morphóō, "changing form in keeping with inner reality") – properly: transformed after being with; transfigured.

They witnessed Jesus capability to transform Himself from a purely physical appearance to appear in their midst in His glorified appearance. They also saw Moses and Elijah in their heavenly or glorified bodies but Jesus was brighter! Jesus was planting an image in their hearts that would become the norm in the resurrection and after the ascension the way He appears when we come to His Table to share Communion. The glory is the fire in CommunionFire. The meal He provides us has within it the power to open our eyes to see and recognize Him. Scriptures don't do this, prayer doesn't do this. The meal of the bread of His Flesh and the wine of his Blood does this.

The blessed bread has the power to open our eyes to see and recognize the spiritual seeing of Jesus where ever He chooses to manifest His presence. (For example: for me 50% of the time He meets me at the beach!) Then the blessed wine has the power to open our ears to hear and recognize the spiritual hearing of His voice. (His sheep know His voice so clearly that they will not follow any other voice.

John 10 Describes this phenomenon: (Remember Jesus uses exact analogy to define spiritual reality - He gives us natural images to envision what He reveals spiritually.) Natural inspiration is not the same as spiritual revelation. Inspiration is our mental response. Revelation is brought about by the power of the Holy Spirit as He reveals what Jesus want us to see and what Jesus wants us to hear.

He speaks to believers by speaking to the unbelief of the Pharisees.

"Anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep (Jesus). 3 The gatekeeper (Holy Spirit see Psalm 24) opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out (from our past way of life to participate in His life. Hiss presence has the power to 'transform, transfigure, convert, or bring "metamorphasis" as we encounter His transfigured, glorious presence. (Revelation 3:20 He loves us first, He knocks at the doorway of our heart, He calls our name. When we open the door (when we believe) He enter our heart and life and the first thing He does is dine with us.

4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them" (darkness cannot comprehend the light. The blindness of this life blinds with unbelief. Vision of the Lord and His eternal life begins when we come to His Table believing. Believing opens our eyes, ears and hearts to receiving whatever it is that He has prepared for us each time we dine - have Communion, with Him.)

7. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 14. I am the Good Shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me (How do we 'enter through Him'? John 6: "If you eat my flesh and drink my blood you will have my eternal life within you") and What happens when we enter through the Communion-gate? The Holy Spirit pulls back the veil of this life as though closing our natural vision to open our eyes to see in the spirit so that we might clearly recognize Jesus our Good Shepherd who has a prepared meal to share with us. He feeds us with His life and love. We take Him in through after we enter through the reality of His body and blood made from our bread and wine.  2 Corinthians 3:18 and 4:18)

I am the Good Shepherd.(See Psalm 23 - where does He lead us? What is the destination?)

17 times John 10 says sheep, 21 times says directly and indirectly shepherd, 5 times speaks directly about Himself as the Shepherd of His sheep, 3 times He refers to Himself as The Good Shepherd, 5 times the Shepherd says He is the gate through whom we enter into His domain and through whom we go in and out and 'find pasture'.

15 I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

In Communion Paul says "we do always show the Lord's death until He returns. When Jesus is the Gate and the Good Shepherd, it is illustrating His desire to feed those who know Him. He told Peter, "Feed my Sheep, Feed my Sheep, Feed My Lambs", Why? Because when we bring our bread and wine to His Table and ask the Lord's blessing on something that He invented, He does. When He does He is telling Peter that he is bringing them to the place where Jesus is revealed, is manifested, shares His life and transforms us in his glory from glory to glory. Jesus tells us to do this to remember Him - perhaps meaning by remembering Him He can rebuild our memories to have eternal perspective.

Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to bring about these encounters and experiences through Communion if we believe; wherever we are, whoever we are as we are in any condition. We become not only first-hand witnesses of His Testimony or Story, but He personally weaves us into His story!

See what happened in Luke 24 and how similar the encounter was in the 40 days of the resurrection as to the episode on Transfiguration Mountain..

25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

Paul too has his epiphany on the road to Damascus. So powerful was the light of Christ it physically blinded him so that the great Rabbi could replace all his book learning with a new first hand Communion with the word made flesh. Paul says that Jesus came to him personally and told him about Communion and what to say when sharing it with others. Do this, Jesus said of the bread and wine, and I'll take it from there. He replaces our worldly with memories that are eternal and life producing. Memories we can continue to feed on throughout eternity.

Jesus has entered His glory and through The Communion meal of his Body and Blood we encounter His glory and are changed from glory to glory. We experience grace upon grace. Our believing grows from faith to faith. We encounter His glory full of grace and truth.

This is the true meal of The Eternal Thanksgiving.

This was a Campus Crusader who wanted Early Church authenticity - I was called into the ministry under the street preaching of this wonderful Man of God in Berkeley, CA in 1971. He was a founder of God's Love household for Street Christians, the publisher of the Jesus People's Movement called "Right On" and through an amazing series of transformations throughout his ministry He was a founder of The University of Orthodox Theology (now called St. Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology) and oversaw the creation of The Orthodox Study Bible before the Lord moved him to his new address in heaven. Thanks Fr. Jack N. Sparks, Ph.D The Witness of Jack and his estimed Associates from Grace Haven Farms, New Covenant Apostolic Order, The Evangelical Orthodox Churches and theis eventual assimilation into the Antiochian Orthodox Church of America is truely one of the Great Church Histories of the 20th and 21st Century.

Another significant influence in my life is the life and ministry of Winkey Pratney. His lifelong commitment to the study and application of Revival as both an apologist and polemicist raised the bar for me and he accomplished what I only dreamed - to Produce the Revival Study Bible. He has also been an intrinsic Man of God from the days of the Jesus People Movement and a part of my experience as a visiting teacher at Christ for the Nations in Dallas in 1975 and one of the principles in Y.W.A.M. Youth With A Mission that has had a direct impact on my sister, daughters, nephews and grandchildren. Thanks Brother Winkey for the legacy you have deposited into my life and the life of so many others.
